Tax due diligence

What is a tax due diligence?

Tax due diligence is a comprehensive investigation of different types of taxes. The main objective of tax due diligence is to determine the past, present and future tax liabilities and identify potential tax risks.

Why do I need a tax due diligence?

If you are buying or selling business, a tax due diligence might help you to identify whether the target complies with the local tax requirements.

What types of tax due diligence may I choose?

Tax due diligence could be grouped into:
  • full scope tax due diligence  - comprises the examination of all taxes (i.e. VAT, CIT, PIT, immovable property tax, etc.);
  • limited scope tax due diligence - enables you to evaluate a certain area of tax compliance (i.e. CIT or VAT, etc.).

Tax due diligence could be grouped in periods which should be checked:
  • long term, i.e. five years;
  • annual;
  • semi-annual;
  • other period which is the best to your business.
